Form Builder FAQ
Answers to the questions teams ask before they choose an online form builder.
Questions
Why pay for an online form builder when Google Forms and Tally are free?
Free tools are good at collecting simple answers. They stop where business work starts: taking a payment inside the form, collecting a signature, routing a submission to an approver, and giving a team roles and an audit log. FormsBuilder does all of that in one flow, so you do not stitch together three tools and retype data between them.
Who owns the data collected through my forms?
You do. Every submission belongs to your workspace, you can export it at any time, and we do not sell or share it. Your data stays yours.
What happens when I reach my plan limit?
Limits are usage in the billing period, so deleting a form or a submission does not give the allowance back. Starter includes 500 submissions a month, Plus 5,000 and Pro 50,000, and forms are capped at 5, 50 and unlimited. When you need more room, email [email protected] and we move your workspace to a larger plan.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time. Email [email protected] and we cancel the subscription. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you can export your data before and after you cancel. We do not offer refunds for periods already started.
How secure are my forms and submissions?
Submissions are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is controlled by roles, and the Pro plan adds an audit log and single sign on. The Security page describes encryption, backups and data region in detail.
Do I need a card to try FormsBuilder?
No. The demo on the home page builds a working form from your description without a card and without an account. A paid plan is needed to embed forms, receive submissions in your inbox and export PDF.
Can I take payments inside a form?
Yes, on the Plus and Pro plans. You add a payment step to any form, set a fixed price or a price calculated from the answers, and the form confirms the payment before it records the submission.
Can I collect signatures on a form?
Yes. The signature field lets a person sign with a finger or a mouse, and the signature is saved with the submission and printed on the PDF copy.
Can agencies use FormsBuilder for client work?
Yes. The Pro plan lets you embed forms under your own brand, hide FormsBuilder branding, and give clients their own roles, so you can deliver forms to many clients from one workspace.
Is FormsBuilder HIPAA compliant?
Compliance depends on how your organization collects and handles health information. FormsBuilder provides the safeguards a form tool can offer, including encryption, role based access and an audit log on Pro. Read the HIPAA compliant form builder page for what is included, and check your own obligations before collecting protected health information.
