Multi Step Form Builder for Longer Forms

Long forms scare people off. Splitting them into short steps keeps each screen light, and a progress bar tells people how much is left.

Building the steps

Group questions the way people think

A good step has one theme. A job application, for example, can use five steps.

  • Step 1, Contact details: name, email, phone, city
  • Step 2, Experience: current role, years in the field, a CV upload
  • Step 3, Role questions: choices and short text answers
  • Step 4, Availability: start date and salary expectation as a number field
  • Step 5, Review and sign: a signature field, finger or mouse

Add a step in the editor, drag fields into it and set the order. The progress bar is created from the steps you define.

Validation on every step

Each step is checked before the next one opens. A missing required field or an invalid email is flagged right there, so the person fixes it while the context is fresh, instead of finding a list of errors at the very end.

Making steps smarter

Steps that appear only when they apply

Not everyone needs every step. With conditional logic, a step can be skipped when a rule says it does not apply. If the answer to Do you have a co applicant is No, the co applicant step never appears, and the progress bar adjusts. Combine steps with the rules from the form builder with conditional logic page.

Payment and signature as the last steps

Place the payment step near the end, after the person has seen the full picture. The price can be fixed, for example 250 USD, or calculated from earlier answers. The submission is saved once the payment is confirmed. A signature step can follow, and you receive a PDF copy of the submission with the signature. Payments, signatures and PDF copies are part of the Plus plan.

Choosing between one page and several

When one page is enough

A short form with three to five fields works well on a single page. Adding steps there only adds clicks.

When steps help

Use steps when the form has distinct parts, asks for sensitive details, includes uploads, or ends with payment. Splitting these makes the task feel manageable. Read the guide to multi step forms versus single page forms for a closer comparison.

Sharing and collecting

Embed the form on your page with a snippet or send the link. Each submission lands in the inbox, searchable, with a notification to your team and a confirmation to the person who sent it. Export a PDF or a spreadsheet file when you need the data elsewhere.

What your plan includes

Multi step forms are available from Starter at 49 USD a month (24 USD billed yearly), which also includes conditional logic, embedding and notifications. Plus at 149 USD a month (74 USD billed yearly) adds payments, signatures and approvals. Pro at 499 USD a month (249 USD billed yearly) has no limit on the number of forms. Registrations are a common example, so also read about the registration form builder.

Prices for all three plans are listed on the pricing page.
